The new low-power 5V microcontroller NuMicro M251/M252 series, based on Arm Cortex-M23 embedded core, supports Armv8-M instruction set architecture, operating frequency is 48 MHz, built-in 32 KB to 256 KB Flas h and 8 KB to 32 KB SRAM, operating in 1.8V to 5.5V wide operating voltage and -40°C to 105°C industrial temperature range, and available in 20 to 128 pin packages. Its current consumption in deep power-down mode is as low as 2.0 μA. The M251/M252 series have built-in five power management modes and three chip security protection mechanisms to meet the requirements of industrial IoT devices that focus on power consumption and high security.

The NuMicro M251/M252 series supports up to five power management modes, and also integrates an independent RTC power supply VBAT pin. In power-down mode, the low-power UART supports a transmission speed of 9600 bps. Through these features Make power management more efficient. The power consumption of M251/M252 series in normal operation mode is 138 μA/MHz, the current in power-down mode (RTC is on, RAM data retention) is 2.5 μA, and the current in deep power-down mode without VBAT is less than 1.4 μA.


NuMicro M251/M252 series provide Nuvoton patented up to 8-channel Programmable Serial I/O (PSIO), which can be used with PDMA to synchronously drive various custom serial interfaces, such as DMX512, HDQ, 1-wire , Microwire, programmable encoder, etc., whether it is a general serial interface or a special serial interface, you can easily realize the transceiver by setting the serial timing and the input/output of each pin The function can also reduce the burden of the CPU, show the efficiency and flexibility of the custom serial interface through the PSIO hardware, and shorten the developer's programming time.

Provides high-performance and rich peripheral interfaces, up to 6-pin voltage adjustable interface (VAI) external expansion interface (EBI), universal serial interface (USCI), QSPI, SPI/I²S, I²C, smart card interface (ISO- 7816-3), watchdog timer, RTC and up to 24 channels of PWM, providing flexibility in hardware design. In the high-performance analog peripheral, it provides a maximum 16-channel 12-bit sampling rate of 880 kSPS; 1 set of operational amplifiers can be used for motor control for small signal amplification; 1 set of 12-bit 1 MSPS sampling rate DAC and 2 sets of analog comparators (ACMP ); Built-in fifth-level reference voltage Vref can provide accurate voltage for ADC and ACMP; rich analog peripherals can improve product performance, reduce the use of external peripheral components and reduce the size of end products. In addition to the features of the M251 series, the M252 series microcontrollers internally generate the precise frequency clock signals required for USB communication and support USB 2.0 full-speed device interfaces without external crystal oscillators, saving terminal product costs and reducing product size.

For low-power devices in the Industrial Internet of Things, the M251/M252 series support 5V operating voltage and have 7 kV ESD and 4.4 kV EFT to improve the anti-interference ability of the product. Its five power modes help battery devices extend their service life. Three chip security protection mechanisms are used to protect the developer's program, and a wealth of peripherals have the ability to connect to multiple sensors.
