The G517 is a self-powered and bus-powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) application with an integrated power switch. Several protection features include current limiting and thermal shutdown to prevent catastrophic switching failures in succession from excessive loads or short circuits due to increased power dissipation. A built-in charge pump to drive an n-channel MOSFET is an arbitrary elimination of parasitic body diodes. The system power is turned off when current flows in the reverse direction through the switch. When the output voltage is higher than the input voltage, the power switch internally disconnects the output of the reverse voltage comparator.
